Since 9/11 it’s easy to understand why apocalyptic visions tend to include crashing aircraft and the destruction of public structures. But nearly a decade later, it’s just as easy to hit a nerve with pics like these.

I’m not sure I even want to know what this project is all about. It’s called “The Cremaster Cycle” and I’m reasonably sure it has nothing to do with wheeled conveyances. But you never know. What is certain is that these images come from a series of giant-assed multi-disciplinary art slash performance projects. Sort like Cirque du Soleil with sculpture. Beautiful website, tons of inscrutable pics and a precious mind-map nav system.

I tell you, technically masterful artists who make darkly beautiful pieces using classical techniques just make me want to jump up and shout their names to the heavens.
So here you go people: Kate D. Friggin MacDowell !!!
Everybody else can go home and cry in their pudding.

All I can think of when I see these are some of the world’s first sculptures, the Paleolithic Venuses. Oh, and the lady down the street who waters her lawn in short shorts.

OK, is that like, an Ewok Red Riding Hood? What the hell does the wolf look like?
Commercial photographer Eolo Perfido does artsy stuff – with zazz and pizazz.

The Artist’s Site features only the Best of Creepiness and Most Subtly Curious of Images. Perfect for the Faint of Heart (in the Darwinian sense).
You gotta watch this full screen. It’s well worth it.

I always say, if you want to do something right, manipulate it digitally. And everything is right about this guy’s images.

These are made of fused glass. Yeah, that’s what I said. The artist is an Hungarian living in the Netherlands – no doubt for *cough cough* healthy living.
